At Big Bang poodles, we specialize in breeding poodles and cockapoo puppies with the best temperament, health, and conformation possible. All of the puppies in the program are raised in my home, cuddled and lovingly cared for since the minute they come into the world. I personally care for each and every puppy until they are old enough to go out into the world and change their family's life forever.

Our pups are raised in a spare bedroom right next to my room and they begin Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) handling at 3 days old. They are constantly exposed to normal home sounds, scents, and stimulation. They start weaning onto puppy food around 3-4 weeks as well as litter box training. When they are 5-6 weeks old, we introduce crates, kennels, collars, and leashes. They are also introduced to approved strangers, a variety of surfaces (laminate flooring, wood surfaces, concrete, grass, asphalt, etc.), a variety of sounds, and car rides. Depending on the weather outside, we also introduce them to sprinklers and kiddie pools!  

Our program is heavily influenced by Puppy culture. The puppy culture curriculum includes exposure to stimuli, including scents, sights, sounds, people. This curriculum helps puppies to be confident family pets or service/therapy dogs.

 Please note -we no longer dock tails or remove dew claws. we leave our pups tails and dews intact.

At 3 days old puppies are started on Early Neurological Stimulation and Early Scent Introduction up till their 14 days old.

At 2 weeks of age, we begin daily handling exercises to desensitize puppies to their face, eyes, mouth, ears, paws and body being touched. As most of our puppies will require extensive grooming though out their lives, we also desensitize our puppies to the sounds and sensations of grooming including nail trims, baths, blow drying, brushing and sanitary trims. It is important to continue with their grooming at home even before they're old enough to be groomed professionally!

Starting at 3 weeks of age, we "litter box train" our puppies. Puppies have a natural instinct to not potty where they sleep if given a choice, so we split the whelping box into a potty area and a sleeping/play area. for our litter boxes we utilize plastic trays lined with pee pads and pine pellets. this method is helpful in keeping the puppies clean and helps to smooth the transition to potty training in your home!

We introduce our puppies as a litter to a wire kennel starting around 5 weeks of age and puppies work their way up to tolerating a couple hours in individual kennels prior to going home with families at 8 - 9 weeks. This helps smooth the transition to crate training in their new homes. For puppies flying to their new homes, we also introduce the puppy to being in a soft sided travel carrier the week prior to go home.

How to get a puppy!

Step 1 Apply

Once you fill out our short application, I will set up a time to connect you and discuss which litter best suits your preferences. I am available via phone, teat message (231) 357-6361 or email @ bigbangpoodles@gmail.com I'm happy to show you our home, where the puppies are raised and answer all of your questions!

Step 2 Deposit

Once you have decided which litter or puppy is right for you, you'll be able to send in your Puppy Deposit of $300 to hold your pick place in the litter. Deposit holders can come see the pups when they turn 4 weeks old. Your deposit fee ($300) is credited towards the total purchase price of your puppy. The order of pick is determined by the order in which deposits are received. 

We always hold 1st pick in case we decide to keep a puppy for our program.
